How to update the Old File with New File in Google Drive without Change the Link

Google Drive is cloud storage to store your document like Word Document, PPT, Excel, Pdf, Video, Audio, Image, Map etc., Google Offere the Cloud storage for the Each account up to 15GB. Using this you save the file and share to any body in the world. And you can save the file for your personal use also. If you save the file in the Google Drive and share the file to your friends.

After a few days you want to make some change in the old file you will delete the old file and upload the new file in the Google Drive it will make confess to the other side with your friend, because your friend will have the old file link. If you change the file you will inform the new link to your friend. How to solve this problem. Google Drive adds the new feature Versioning concept.

If you want to update the new file in the old file without changing the link. How to do this, follow these steps.

  • Log in to drive and Select the File which file you want to make a change.
  • After select the file it will highlight in the Blue Color.

  • Now right click the file and it will open the drop down menu in that drop down menu you will select the Managed Versions option it will open the new popup.
  • The Manged Versions option setting popup will open. On that show the button Upload new version now click the button to upload the new file.

  • Now new file only accessible in the link. Name and link will be same but the file will be new.
  • Old file also keeps it there if you need the old file to keep it there otherwise you will delete the file.
  • Using this you will change the old file to new file with out change the link and file name in the Google Drive.
